changes for Reading & Leeds music line-ups

plus a few new acts

By Neil Greenway | Published:

There's been a few changes to the music line-ups for the Reading and Leeds festivals, which take place at Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, and Bramham Park, nr Leeds, West Yorkshire, both from 27th-29th August 2004.

Following the cancellations by The Vines, and now My Morning Jacket, the New York Dolls have been added to the Main Stage (Reading - Saturday; Leeds - Sunday), and Razorlight have been elevated from the Radio 1 Tent onto the Main Stage (also at: Reading - Saturday; Leeds - Sunday). Added to the Radio 1 Tent are The Network (Reading - Saturday; Leeds - Sunday).

Newly added to the Carling Stage are The Subways, who won the bands competition (from 2,500 bands) for a slot a Glastonbury (where they showed up some of the more established acts). We mentioned them to Mean Fiddler director Melvin Benn back in April, and said such an excellent band shouldn't be left off the bill for Reading & Leeds, so we're very pleased to see them booked. Other bands also newly confirmed for this stage are Pretty Girls Make Graves, Le Tigre, Secret Machines, and Mr Mojo. The day splits have now been announced for the Carling Stage.
