Orange will be demonstrating these new services at the Orange music 247 tent at this summers music festivals, including Glastonbury, T In The Park and Reading & Leeds. Fireplayer will be profiled by a selection of DJ ambassadors at these events, including DJ Yoda, Rob da Bank, Ali B and Dub Pistols Barry Ashworth.
Both these services are free to download, and tracks can be downloaded easily via Orange World. Using the phone keys, Fireplayer users can add sound effects, vocals, beats, bass and save their own mixes as True Tone ringtones. Once a track is downloaded they can record as many different mixes as they wish.
The services can be used on a wide range of handsets, without the need for any additional equipment. At present they include:
Motorola MPX200, Nokia 6600, Nokia N-Gage, Orange SPV, Orange SPV E100, Orange SPV E200, Sony Ericsson P900, and Sony Ericsson P800.
Orange are working with handset manufacturers to extend the range of compatible handsets.
Both products are free to download. Downloaded tracks for Fireplayer will cost £3.50 and at launch there will be approximately 20 songs divided into Rock, RnB, Chart and Dance. Each downloaded song on Music Player will cost from £1.50. At launch there will be tracks from over 200 artists to choose from. New artists and tracks will be added constantly.
