Download (Scotland) 2004

By Luke Seagrave | Published:

After last years hugely successfully Download festival at Donington Park, the organisers in their wisdom decided to hold a Download event in Scotland, or to be exact Glasgow. With a cut down line-up compared to Donington, Scotland picked the best of the best bands that are playing at Donington and decided to use them to host a Download event.

Metallica

So, yes, there are very few bands. But in a strange way this is what made Scottish Download special. It was all rather intimate, with roughly 12,000 people each day, with Metallica getting slightly more than Linkin Park.

So the overall impression? Fantastic. Would I go back again? Hell, yes!

As great as it was, one thing to let it down was the lack of screens for those stuck at the back of the field. Aside from that, this was one the best events I've been to in a long time. It was a long way to travel for me from England, but well worth the effort!
