The Reading and Leeds festivals have been announced.

The headliners are The Darkness (only English/Welsh show this year)(Reading: Friday, Leeds: Saturday), The White Stripes (only UK shows this year) (Reading: Saturday, Leeds: Sunday), and Green Day (Reading: Sunday, Leeds: Friday).

Other bands announced are: The Offspring, Ash, The Hives (all - Reading: Friday, Leeds: Saturday), Morrissey, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand (all - Reading: Saturday, Leeds: Sunday), and 50 Cent (Reading: Sunday, Leeds: Friday). Also playing are Lostphophets and The Streets.

Reading Festival takes place Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, and Leeds Festival takes place at Bramham Park, nr Leeds, West Yorkshire, both from 27th-29th August 2004.

Weekend tickets have been on sale already for about 6 weeks, priced at £105. Day tickets are priced at £45 for all days.
