organisers judge Homelands a great success

By Neil Greenway | Published:

After 33,000 people descended on Matterley Bowl for Homelands two weeks ago, the organisers have judged the change in format to be a great success.

With the weather forecast not looking good (but thankfully the rain did hold off), more people arrived to dance the day and night away than in 2002.

Promoter Darren Hughes said "The format worked and the proof is that we had more people this year than the year before. We knew that the programming of dance festivals had to be changed - it was fine-tuned and it became more successful event for it. People are talking about how the industry has had some trouble - but we've come and made an event that really worked by mixing everything together."

As we said in our Overview - "less is more". We Love Homelands. See you next year!
