The first line-up details for Summer Sundae - taking place at Leicester's De Montfort Hall gardens on 8th-10th August - have been announced.

To promote the work of the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation's campaign, Emmylou Harris and Steve Earle, Chrissie Hynde, and Billy Bragg will feature in a songwriter-in-the-round concert on Sunday night, which will be a benefit concert for a landmine-free world. None of the artists are taking a fee for appearing at the festival, so the booking costs go directly to the charity.

Also confirmed is Ian McCulloch, who headlines indoors on Sunday night. Headliners for both the Friday and Saturday are still to be confirmed.

Other acts confirmed for Sunday are Pernice Brothers, The Vessels, Durutti Column, Brendan Benson and Laura Veirs, with more to be announced.

Now in its third year, the festival is expanding to include two smaller-scale marquee stages, one for emerging artists, and the other a set of acoustic acts - alt-country singer-songwriter Peter Bruntnell is already lined up.

Tickets go on sale on Monday 2 June.
