So Solid Crew / Oxide & Neutrino withdrawn from Homelands

By eFestivals Newsroom | Published:

The organisers of the Homelands festival have asked So Solid Crew and Oxide & Neutrino to withdraw from the bill following unprecedented pressure by police.

Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Mean Fiddler (co-promoters of Homelands) said: "Hampshire Constabulary & Winchester City Council have made it extremely clear that the event would not be policed and the licence would not be issued if either of these two acts appeared. Therefore, Homelands has reluctantly had to accept that asking So Solid Crew and Oxide & Neutrino not to play Homelands festival is the only course of action."

A spokeswoman for the So Solid Crew said "So Solid Crew are really gutted that they won't be able to perform live for all their fans, and the supporters of the Homelands festival."

A high profile replacement is promised. Homelands takes place on Saturday 1st June 2002 (from 1pm - 6am) at The Matterley Bowl, Near Winchester, Hampshire, and does have Basement Jaxx as headliners. Click here for the full information.

Tickets are on sale, priced £49.
