Natasha Bedingfield

V Festival (Chelmsford) 2005 review

By Luke Seagrave | Published:

Natasha Bedingfield’s name seemed to look slightly out of place amongst all of the other acts on the V Festival line-up. So we thought we would trundle over to the JJB stage to try and see if she is worthy of being included in the same line up as rock giants Oasis, Texas, Kaiser Chiefs, The Bravery, Prodigy.

It goes without saying that Natasha is certainly very attractive and to be honest, given the choice between looking at Liam Gallagher or Natasha then she would win everytime.

However it was going to take more than looking attractive to win the crowd over that had gathered in the JJB tent to see her performance. To my astonishment she is one of the few pop artistes that can actually sing live- and sing impressively well!

The audience loved her, she seemed to genuinely enjoy being on the stage and trying to please the audience- she even treated the audience to a version of ‘This Love’ by Maroon 5 with the help of a special guest Estelle.

‘These Words’ sounds incredible live, and as much as I dislike pop artistes- Natasha Bedingfield is probably one of only a handful of pop artistes willing to actually sing live and one can only hope that this will set the benchmark for other pop artistes.

One of the most pleasant surprises of V Festival!!
