The Thrills

T in the Park2004 review

By Guy Powell | Published:

The Thrills seem to be the general incarnation of the spirit of this years T in the Park – watered down rock that could be so much more if it tried harder.

Each song joins together; they don’t sound the same or even necessarily follow on without word from the band yet I am left with nothing but background noise as my mind wanders elsewhere finding it hard to focus on the succinctly average music coming from the stage.

The Thrills

Led by Conor Deasy, they talk to the crowd at every opportunity and really do seem to be more than just happy to be playing today at T in the Park. The problem is that this just doesn’t seem to rub off on the majority of that crowd who are walking off and thinking of other things.

As the set ends one lady in the crowd may feel moved to expose her breasts to the TV-cameras yet I am left simply bored and ready to walk away along with a lot of the rest of the crowd.
