T in the Park2004 review

By Guy Powell | Published:

The King Tuts tent is heaving. The exits have been shut and nobody else is coming in. As many annoyed fans wait outside, Tim walks on stage with his guitar on fire and they burst straight in to song.

As the set continues on to ‘Girl From Mars’ the tent seems to close in as the crowd become even more densely packed and the band seem dwarfed by the crowd whenever they surge into applause. For a band that have already played a small and large scale UK tour this year, Ash are certainly in demand at the moment.

As the set comes to a close a mix of the recent ‘Starcrossed’ and ‘Burn Baby Burn’ seem to fuelled the already highly-stoked crowd in to a singing and dancing frenzy.

For any band to be in such demand and fail to give their all is a crime. Thankfully, Ash know this and don’t fail to give anything less than one hundred percent from the moment that they step out on stage.
