Attic Lights

Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival reviews

By Matthew Shaw | Published:

Opening the Venus FlyTrap Palais (undoubtedly the most eclectic stage of the festival, where else can you see a band like Attic Lights mix with Mark Dean – The Yodelling Mix Meister?) is not the most glamorous of spots, but the tent is actually fairly full for the five-piece band.

Their sound is reminiscent of recent Teenage Fanclub, with a mix of folk and melodic rock, songs such as “I Found A Girl” and ”Never Get Sick Of The Sea”, Attic Lights show a great deal of promise to become a band who can completely engage the listener in their music, and will hopefully become a great Scottish cult group just like the aforementioned Teenage Fanclub, or Trashcan Sinatras.

The band are charismatic enough to engage the crowd, and although they lack one killer song to bring a festival to its knees at the moment, they are certainly capable of writing something along those lines, as it may be what it takes for them to take the next step up. An incredibly promising band for the future.
