Summer Sonic is an annual Japanese festival taking place on Saurday 18th and Sunday 19th August at the twin sites of Chiba Marine Stadium& Makuhari Messe, Tokyo and Maishima Sports Island, Osaka.

Day 1 - Tokyo / Day 2 - Osaka

Marine Stage: Green Day, Franz Ferdinand, Yoshi Kazuya, Lostprophets, The Vaccines, Grouplove, One OK Rock.
Mountain Stage: Sigur Ros, The Hiatus, Death Cab for Cutie, Passion Pit, Crystal Castles, Mac Miller, The Knux.
Sonic Stage: Adam Lambert, (Nelly Furtado - Tokyo / Soulwax - Osaka), Gotye, SBTRKT, St Vincenet, Grimes.
Beach Stage: Begin.
Rainbow Stage: Iceage, Nothing's Carved In Stone, Toy, Hydro Da Hero.

Day 2 - Tokyo / Day 1 Osaka

Marine Stage: Rihanna, Jamiroquai, Ke$ha, Pitbull, Perfume, Gym Class Heroes, Vintage Trouble.
Mountain Stage: New Order, Garbage, Hoobstank, The Cardigans, Cast, Tribes, Champagne.
Sonic Stage: Calvin Harris, Tears For Fears, Foster The People, Azealia Banks, Other Lives, Spector, Kindness.
Beach Stage: Walk The Earth.
Rainbow Stage: Abe Meo, Anna Tsuchiya.

Tickets

Tickets for Tokyo are priced at 27,000. Osaka tickets are priced at 22,500 yen for the weekend. To buy tickets, click here.

The majority of the bands playing in Osaka the first day go to Chiba (Tokyo) the following day and vice versa. The line-up is a mix of international acts alongside local ones from both major and indie record companies.
