Reading Festival 2009 review

After three days of festivaling the casualty count is starting to climb and for those with energy not yet spent Gallows are here to wipe it out.

A siren wails and drums sound. There's a roar as a black and white union jack is waved by the masked Frank Carter. 'The Riverbed' and the renamed 'Reading Is The Reason' start a powerfully driven punk set. There's no let up as new songs are fired from the stage and we're lost in a hot sweaty mass of dust.

They've been over in America showing them how punk is done and playing their third Reading on the bounce they tell us. Giving us time to catch our breath or in the case of this reviewer leave the young punk fans to their moshing and grab a beer. Vital, energetic, and too bleedin' energetic for day three.
