Reading Festival reviews

By Scott Williams | Published:

I have the album The Loon and have a friend who loves Tapes 'n Tapes so I’m happy to go along and listen. They are introduced as a DIY band who became one of the hottest acts to get signed this year. They open with a mangled wreck of ‘10 Dollar Ascots’ and it’s terrible.

The next tune isn’t any better they seem really off form and I’m just not feeling it. I’m not feeling anything and the line up such as it is, strength and depth all over the festival, I follow the growing numbers heading elsewhere. I’m sure they can perform and perhaps I should have given them a chance but at Reading they should come out of the traps at a canter not a crawl.
