Mr. Fogg

The first act on over the weekend. Mr Fogg started before anyone else on the Friday at the Carling Stage. I had some trouble getting there as they wouldn’t let press get access until late and I had to run around the outside of the site to get in at the main gate in time to see them.

The tent was only about half full for the an indie-synth-pop solo artist Mr Fogg who is best known for remixes and production on records for Stunted Records, Raw42, Cassette Records and Music Concrete. Bit of a surprise then to find he’s not alone but has a backing band. A girl on keyboard and rainmaker, a drummer and some gloriously mellow beats.

The songs are sparse and the tent rapidly fills, the crowd are soon clapping gently along to Mr Fogg’s whispered lyrics, it’s fragile music but it makes for a wonderful opener of proper heartfelt music rather than noise.
