L Fest weekend has an amazing family vibe

L Fest 2012 review

By Michelle and Trish Owen-Williams | Published:

Day Two of L Fest, well we didn't get there till mid-afternoon as we had menial stuff to do to get ready for a week's work, so we moseyed on up about 3 o'clock, so glad we did as we caught our first act of the day Heads Hearts, love these as the lead singer, Amber is a delight to shoot and watch. They were dressed up to the hilt and are really the full package. Loved it, Electro-pop is definitely my thang and this really lit my fire.

We only managed to catch Sandra McBeth for a few songs, but were stage centre for Greymatter, another band I love, very ballsey again, with accomplished musicians. Again, I don't tire of listening to their banter and vocal prowess on stage. A combination of women musicians, who really gel and are tight together. Shame they don't do more Birmingham based gigs.

Headliner Horse, is the stalwart of the bands and artists over the two days, she definitely got the audience to their feet for sure. Singing to backing tracks, but it didn't bother anyone as her vocals were amazingly crisp, clear and awesome at the same time. The audience sang along and Horse lapped it up.

The L Project – unfortunately we had to shoot off so missed this tremendous spectacle, although her it was amazing, shame on us.

All in all an amazing weekend, definitely a must for families or party goers, whatever takes your fancy!!

If you're looking for a festival with an amazing family vibe with plenty to do for the kids well this is the festival for you. L Fest is destined to happen in 2013, July 19th-22nd, book your tickets now.
