One of the unexpected highlights of Leeds festival was the Sunset Sons. Originally starting out as a covers band they have recently signed to Polydor.

Front man Rory Williams plays keyboards whilst belting out his melodic songs with a unique growl. Almost a hybrid of The Killers and Scouting for Girls. Sunset Sons songs were catchy and infectious sprinkled with pop funk guitar interludes.

The band only had 30 or so minutes to impress the crowd that had gathered at the Festival Republic stage. Their recent single “She Wants” was met with a volcanic cheer from the audience and appeared to be the perfect feel good anthem for the rest of the day.

Certainly a band to keep an eye out for in the next few months.
