The Wildhearts

Leeds Festival 2004 review

By Luke Seagrave | Published:

The Wildhearts are one of those bands that I know very little about, however I stumbled across them playing in the Radio One tent- and was pleasantly surprised at how good these guys are live.

As I mentioned I didn’t know any of their songs, however their music is pure good old fashioned all out rock. They have a great ability to write songs that literally grab your attention and keep you glued to them.

The Wildhearts

Ginger and the rest of the band must be doing something right as they packed out the Radio One tent and there were even people queuing to get into the tent right until the very last notes of their set.

The Wildhearts are one of those bands that don’t waste any time- they just plough through each song like a Trojan horse. The only song that I knew was their punked up rock version of the theme from Cheers.

I’d place a large amount on these being on the main stage next year at Leeds. Right then, I`m off to buy their albums...
