Some bands love music, genuinely, and whilst many claim to be in it for the fans few would pull out one of their teeth with a pair of pliers for the sake of the show. Modest Mouse front-man Isaac Brock told RoomThirteen.com earlier this year that he has previously done just that.

Whilst you imagine that today he’s not been at the pliers it may possibly explain why they waltz on stage late – causing their set time to be dramatically cut. It doesn’t matter though as Isaac and Co. play with a passion that could well be plier-motivated.

As a band – they’re years of experience show through when they play. The music comes as one, all-enveloping, sounding that almost wraps itself around you to the extent you cannot help but stare and wonder – at nothing in particular.

Modest Mouse provide the kind of set that ;eaves you asking questions, the kind of set that connects to moments in your past and the kind of set that you go away from feeling fulfilled.

With their new album, ‘Good News…’, out now – you ought to check these guys out.
