GUILFEST INFORMATION

What is Guilfest?

By Neil Greenway | Published: Fri 14th Oct 2011

Guilfest is a 3-day festival, held in a corner of Stoke Park, Guilford, Surrey (it's a big park!) for a capacity crowd of 25,000 each day.

Unlike many other festivals, where the emphasis is having the latest big-name acts, Guilfest concentrates on acts both old and new, but ALWAYS quality.

It's definitely not a beer & brawl festival - the vibe is lovely and mellow, and it's popular with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Because of its central Guildford location it attracts a fair amount of locals, and being Guildford these vary from young radicals to middle-aged stock-brokers. But it also attracts many for the whole weekend from right around the country who come to enjoy the unique atmosphere of this great event. Of all the smaller festivals around the country, this is the eFestivals favourite!

There's live music over seven stages, comedy in the eFestivals Cosmic Comedy tent, The Man In The Moon Theatre Tent, Farmer Giles' barn dance, children's entertainment to ensure the smaller ones are happy too. Plus street theatre, art and crafts, and delicious food from around the world. There will also be a late licensed 150 foot beer tent bar which means nobody has to wait very long for refreshment.

Early access begins on the Thursday from 10am, allowing you sufficient time to enter the campsite and get set up before the entertainment begins. Weekend ticket holders have access to the site until 12 noon on Monday. The music occurs in the afternoons throughout the evening, building up to the headliners at the end of the night.
