Ben and Jason

Guilford Live 2000 review

Ben and Jason
29th July 2000

Over at the Aladdin's Cave stage we came across Ben and Jason. They were in fact a four piece band of guitar, keyboards, drums and double bass.

Ben and Jason

The gathered people were lazing in the sun and the mood was very laid back. Ben and Jasons music style could be described as gentle, smooth, mellow, emotional and melodic and the vocals of Ben were beautiful. His voice was able to reach both high and low and at one point sounded a tad like Billy Joel.

As they came to the end of each tune the people would sit up, clap and cheer before laying back down again to enjoy some more soothing sounds in the sun. At one point he announced 'this is a quiet, miserable one' like that was a change. We chuckled. Nevertheless I found it enjoyably melodic and loved his voice - might even buy the album.
