Stages

By Scott Williams | Published:

In 2009 EiiD decided to do away with its outdoor stage and instead provide 'weatherproof' entertainment.

The Main 'DD' (Desmond Dekker) Stage

Opening at 5pm on Friday and thereafter 11am the tent offers music until around 1.30am on Friday, and Saturday night, and midnight on Sunday, the large tent has screens with additional punked up graphics, and a decent soundsystem, when the weather is good bands can still be enjoyed outside on the grass.

Wildcat Stage

With the same running times as the main stage this tent offers a few acts each year that fans of punk can sing along to, and also contains a small bar to fuel those pogoing moments. Often deserted minutes before an act takes to the stage only to be rammed 10 minutes later as it is the closest to the campsite and attracts those festival goers out of their homes to party.

Rock The Bus Bar

Offering a well stocked bar and playing host to 'Scrumpy Sunday', 'Ladies Day' competition, and other entertainment. Home to local acts and new music treats, themed events like pub karaoke, Cider Sunday, and more. Also has seating outside and nestles up close to the Dorset Bus.

Wig On Casino Stage

Offering new music treats, themed events like pub karaoke, special collaborations, and the like. Plus late night DJ action often with a Northern Soul flavour.

Dance Tent Bar

A short skip from the Desmond Dekker Stage this offers drinking refreshment and a decent soundsystem playing classic alternative tunes between acts.

Other 'informal' stages

Over the years the festival has had various additional stages including a Wreckon stage, Strummercamp, Rock the CasBar, a bus bar stage, a mobile disco, the campsite cafe, Purple Purge Tent, Comedy Stage, and more. It's worth exploring to find them each year. There are also often impromptu appearances and musical happenings by both performers and festival goers randomly around the site.
