Cradle Of Filth

Download Festival 2006 review

By Luke Seagrave | Published:

All British shock rockers and extreme metalists have ventured out into daylight to spread chaos upon Download. Clawing their way out of the underground metal scene, Cradle Of Filth have been a well established band for years.

With a goblin leashed to his arm, Dani tears into the first song. A musical roller coaster - intent on breaking the crowd into frenzy, Cradle Of Filth are everything and more than I expected.

Dani makes several aggressive attempts to rouse the crowd and exercises his right to say f*ck as frequently as possible. An unorthodox contrast of vocals that transcribe well into their live set and an immediately impressive band, make them a band well worth seeing.

‘Nymphetamine’ and ‘A Ghost In The Fog’ gladly make the short list. Women hanging off the ceiling and metal on metal showers of sparks firing off them also contribute to the overall atmosphere of the show.
