After Black Sabbaths performance last night, it was going to be near impossible to top that, thankfully though Download had obviously thought carefully about who to put on as headliners for the final day.
System of A Down were better than anticipated and judging by the crowd turnout, I would say that they are almost just as popular as the mighty Sabbath. Naturally the set contained classic material from their album Toxicity.
There were speckles of rain throughout the day, however that did nothing to dampen the atmosphere with bands like Therapy?, Motorhead, Slipknot all on the same bill, it was impossible to be disappointed.
There was even a surprise (cough, cough) band, although everybody knew straight away that it was Funeral For A Friend upon arrival at the venue, due to a gigantic poster stating that they are playing.
Security decided to alter certain one way routes around the arena without announcing it, which was quite frustrating at times. But apart from that, another superb day in the world of rock!
They'll be full reviews as well as fantastic exclusive photos online in the next few days.
