Turbonegro review

Having moved up the bill due to congestion on the roads, Turbonegro appear clad something like Kiss, The Darkness and The Village People all mixed together. Suffice to say that you probably wouldn’t want your partner dressing from their wardrobe if they were meeting your parents for the first time.

Unfortunatley, this fails to motivate the crowd who just don’t seem to respond well to the punk-rock stylings of this Norwegian band with roots heading back to the 1980s.

Equipped with a song about male prostitution, a large proportion of the crowd still seem to not respond to their unique on-stage stylings. With some decent axe-work the set progresses to give rise to the final song dedicated to the wonders of erections – slightly more people see the funny side of ‘I Got Erection’.

Turbonegro may have erection, but they sadly seem to be failing at making the crowd stand to attention. Worth a watch for comical value – but maybe not quite main stage material – having just witnessed the likes of Ill Nino it is clear why Turbonegro were meant to be on first.
