All Tomorrows Parties - In Between Days 2010 - Connan Mockasin

New Zealander Connan Mockasin played songs from his debut 'Please Turn Me Into The Snat' and continued Mondays Psychedelic sound theme, though popier perhaps. A solid, rhythmic backing band behind him, Mockasin is a charismatic figure onstage with his psych. guitar sound; he also interacts and exchanges with the audience with an amiable manner about him.

Later, still more psychedelic (space) sounds from Wooden Shjips. With a bass and organ reminiscent of The Doors at times, a much more laid-back, floating free-spirited sound overall though, they take you back to that west coast psychedelic 60's era in authentic style. Lots of Suicide and Silver Apples influence anyway. Most notable for Erik Johnson's excellent guitar work I thought. . . .I haven't mentioned the word 'Drone' again yet, I feel I probably should.

I skipped the remaining DJ/electronic sets, though it was noticeable that there was a larger audience turned up to see DJ Cherrystones and Four Tet perform.
