6Music's Steve Lamacq, and Shaun Keaveny broadcast an interviewed Brian Johnson and Angus Young from AC/DC today, and the pair mentioned playing Glastonbury Festival next year. From around 2.23 in on the iPlayer listen again service, (here) they are discussing that their management are working on their tour schedule, when Steve asks, "Any chance of seeing you at Glastonbury Festival one year?"

The conversation then follows like this:

"At Glastonbury?" (sucks air)

"I don't know, if there's rock and roll there, is there? I don't know, please don't ask me, I'm really not up on it. I thought it was wellies and corporate, I don' know!"

"Metallica played it last year..."
"Who did?"
"Which was a slight surprise when they announced it."
"Metallica, they don't have as many big tunes as you guys. What a Glastonbury headliner needs is a lot of massive tunes, and you've got the lot."
"Yes"
"If they ask... okay"
"just agree."
"Yes"
"If they ask I'll say he sent us, Shaun sent us."
"Here's his card."
"How do you spell Glastonbury? I'll just write that down."

They then laugh about it. The band appear to be non-committal and haven't ruled themselves out of a possible appearance in Somerset next summer.

Next year's sold out Glastonbury runs for five full days from  Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2015 across over a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. As ever, entry includes a free programme. Once again, the Festival will be raising more than £2 million in funds for Oxfam, Wateraid, Greenpeace and and hundreds of other worthy causes, both local and international.

The only act confirmed is Lionel Richie in the teatime legends slot. There are no other acts confirmed yet for 2015, the line-up will not be announced until spring next year. Expect something like 2,000 performances at over 100 venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, a fantastic Kidz area, poetry, green crafts and information, site art, decor, and loads, loads more ... much more than just the music, so make sure you check it all out!

As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2015 rumours, updated as we receive information.
