Founders of The Green Man Festival, Danny and Jo Hagan, have decided to sell their shares in the festival to Fiona Stewart - their fellow shareholder and the events long-standing Managing Director, who has been organising Green Man since 2006.

Fiona said, "Creatively and organisationally, nothing has changed, the same team who have been organising Green Man for many years are still going to be running it. Green Man has a life of its own now, and remains the fiercely independent, non-corporate and ethically run festival that we all know and love."

Green Man started in 2003 as a day event attended by 300 people. In 2006, Danny and Jo approached Fiona Stewart - former Manager of Big Chill Festival - to take over the organisation of Green Man and develop it into a full-blown music festival.

Fiona immediately relocated Green Man to a new home on the Glanusk Estate, in Wales' Black Mountains, and has since introduced a host of new innovations such the Einstein's Garden science area.

Under her stewardship, Green Man has established itself as one of the leading contemporary annual cultural events in Wales offering a colourful, dynamic and family-friendly celebration of music, film, comedy, science, arts and nature.

Fiona added, "All of us at Green Man would like to wish the Danny and Jo the very best of luck for the future. Green Man 2011 was our best festival yet, and we can't wait to start announcing details of what promises to be an absolutely amazing celebration for the tenth annual Green Man in Wales next August. Watch this space."

The Green Man Festival is a four day event with three days of music and more than 100 acts playing indie, psychedelia, Americana, and folk across 5 stages, while DJs playing everything from psychedlia, dub-reggae, modern electro and stoner rock right through the night.

Now in its tenth year, it takes place annually at Glanusk Park, Usk Valley, Powys, Wales. The dates for The Green Man Festival 2012 are provisionally expected to be Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August.

There are no acts confirmed yet for 2012, a first announcement is expected soon. Tickets sold out last year. Tickets are not yet on sale and prices have not yet been confirmed.
