The third WoodFest - The Festival in the Heart of the Wood - takes place over three days this year from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th September 2013 at Hatfield Forest, Takeley, in Essex and is one of the first festivals the National Trust has run.
Live music throughout the whole weekend from local bands, and offers a 'session in the shelter' for all musicians/singers. Acts include The Toots, Flutterby Theatre, Alice and The Fox, The Sheri Kershaw Band, and more.
The annual Festival is set deep in the heart of Hatfield Forest, and celebrates the unique site through music, song, workshops and traditional crafts. The festival offers children's activities, sale of timber and woodland produce, stalls and much more. Local sourced food and drink from Lakeside Café and Real Ale Bar.
To attend the event is free, although there are additional charges, see below.
Workshops throughout the weekend are charged at around £15 per workshop per person.
The small festival will be trialling camping for tents, caravans and campervans this year, and hope to develop it as the years go on. Full weekend camping is priced at £9 per head per night - children £6 per head per night - booking essential. Please note that facilities are basic with only toilets and tap and no showers. Approved camping cookers only, no naked fires or BBQs please. Limited spaces so book early.
Car Park charges apply and minimal charges for children's activities.
More information will be here when available.
