Wigan International Jazz Festival is now in its 28th year and takes place over four days from Thursday 14th until Sunday 17th July 2011 at Lowri Beck Celebration Hall, in Wigan, Lancashire.

Doncaster Jazz Orchestra, directed by John Ellis MBE. Celebrating 40 years of Doncaster Youth Jazz Association. Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra, directed by David Little. With special guest soloist Al Wood (alto & baritone).

David Lyttle and Interlude / Nearly Dan

A fabulous double bill to give every jazz fan a fantastic night of entertainment. David Lyttle began performing at the age of four in his family folk group and is now a household name in Irish jazz working as a musician, producer and record label owner. Less tribute and more homage, Nearly Dan is saviour to the growing legions of Dan fans desperate to hear the meticulously crafted grooves and allusive lyrical style of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker.

Dana Masters is a powerful soul, gospel and jazz vocalist from Columbia, Ohio. This Statesider is now living among the thriving musical community of Belfast, and has put together her own incredible band.

70th Anniversary World Tour of the longest established working jazz band with more than 80 albums under their belts. Boasting a young vibrant personnel that excels in keeping alive the exciting music of The Dutch Swing College Band, and with a stage show that's unique, seven of the finest jazz musicians anywhere ensure the very highest musical standard.
Igor Butman, saxophone virtuoso, bandleader, club owner and television host, is Russia's number one jazz personality. This is a rare opportunity to catch a live performance of this powerhouse Russian big band in the UK.

Skelton Skinner All Star Big Band

The first set will be a Terry Gibbs Dream Band set. Highlights taken from all six volumes of the live albums with new, specially-commissioned take-downs for the Wigan gig.
