Last time that I had the fortune of watching Texas at V Festival was way back in 2001. At that point they were on the main stage, impressing the audience as headliners for that year ... four years later and Texas have returned to the V Festival to headline the slightly smaller JJB stage.

So whilst all of the louts were at the main stage watching Oasis, Sharleen Spiteri and co had managed to drag a huge crowd to fill the JJB arena up to such an extent that there was literally no standing room left.

To see Texas up close and personal was a vast change from their previous main stage appearance way back in 2001. Although some bands would be moaning about playing a smaller stage, Texas seemed to genuinely enjoy the intimacy and belted out all of their hits including ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’ and ‘Say You What You Want’.

Sharleen Spiteri has a great vocal ability and is able to hold an audience in the palm of her hands without too much trouble at all.

Texas were certainly one of the highlights of this years festival.
