Edge Festival replaced T on the Fringe in Edinburgh. This year marks the 10th anniversary of a dedicated popular music programme at the Edinburgh Festival, and takes place across various venues ranging from 250 - 2800 in capacity, from the 1st until 31st August 2009, the contemporary music strand to the Edinburgh Festival will feature a phenomenal fifty performances over the festival period with tickets ranging in price.

The line-up includes David Byrne, Faith No More, Biffy Clyro, The Streets, The Stranglers, Calvin Harris, Malcolm Middleton, Young Fathers, Unicorn Kid, Broken Records, Frightened Rabbit, Múm, Enter Shikari, Frank Turner, Mumford & Sons, Bluetones, Amanda Palmer, Andrew Bird, Emiliana Torrini, Foy Vance, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Jeffrey Lewis & the Junkyard, and SOMA night.

Ian Broudie's shows at Cabaret Voltaire, which were due to take place on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th August, have been cancelled and refunds will be available from point of purchase.

The Edge Festival takes on the baton from T on the Fringe and offers music fans an opportunity to experience the best live music around within the setting of Edinburgh's festival season.

This year's Edge Festival also sees a number of new venues added to the roster, including the Edinburgh Playhouse, HMV Picture House, Sneaky Pete's and Studio 24, as well as the return to established Edge locations such as Cabaret Voltaire, Queen's Hall and the Corn Exchange.
