Liverpool Loves is a three-day event that provides a platform to celebrate, participate and create everything people are so passionate about across Liverpool City Region.

The event will take place Thursday 6th until Saturday 8th August 2015 on the city's iconic Pier Head.

Line-up

Liverpool will celebrate its Irish culture and heritage through an evening of live music and dance on Friday 7th August with a line-up of traditional Irish entertainment. Liverpool Loves Ireland will be staged at Pier Head Liverpool in a Big Top venue, with an evening of entertainment between 7pm and 11pm, headlined by Cream of the Barley, plus Eleanor McEvoy, Jack Owen, Michael Coyne, The Jesse Janes, and The Bolger Cunningham Irish Dancers

Also confirmed are the Rock and Roll Choir and Liverpool Community Choir, Blue Saint, Stephen Langstaff, Polar States, Natalie McCool, Gary Edward Jones, Chelcee Grimes, Lives, Joe Slater, Seattle Yacht Club (SYC), Chris Kearney, Jimmy and The Revolvers, Ego, Oranj Son, Satin Beige and Shamanarchy - with line-up of established local acts still to be announced.

Liverpool Music artists will be included on the third day.

Liverpool Loves will promote and celebrate all the things that Liverpool has to offer, in turn supporting new business with profits raised through the event. The Thursday and Friday will be more focused on business, while the Saturday is billed as festival day.

This first year sees the event offer four main areas - Liverpool Loves Culture; Liverpool Loves Business; Liverpool Loves Food; Liverpool Loves Well Being.

A dedicated kid’s activity area, arts and craft workshops, dance workshops and circus training are among the highlight of activities available that will ensure kids of all ages can play all day.

Liverpool Loves will endeavour to use local exhibitors, suppliers, produce and staff where possible. The focus on the Saturday is all about providing a platform for the business community to reconnect with the people of the city. The creative and lifestyle sectors of Liverpool will entertain the public with showcase exhibitions, live performances and demonstrations.

The Business Big Top, taking place on the Thursday and Friday, will provide a shop window for the commercial and social enterprise sectors by including a commercial marketplace, seminar stages for guest speakers, networking spaces and work stations - resulting in a varied programme which aims to bridge the gap between small and medium/large enterprises. There will also be a themed gala dinner that promises to provide a show-stopping hospitality event.

There’ll be a street art exhibition by Zap Graffiti and full market of local craft and vintage goods with Capstan’s Bazaar. Finally, book and poetry readings from local authors will be headed up by The Reader’s Organisation, offering up literary inspiration for all ages.

There will be cultural activities such as traditional Chinese dance, Indian dancing and music, Arabic and African music, street dancing and Free-Fall circus. Liverpool Comedy Festival are curating comedy programme and there’ll also be pop-up performances from the Oh Yes Street Theatre Company.

Liverpool Loves is the brainchild of Debbie Boyd, Director of Orb Events, who created Liverpool Pride 2010 and is co-creator of the Brazilica Festival.

Accommodation

The festival offers no accommodation at the event. There are plenty of accommodation options available in the city.
