Glastonbury Festival 2000

By eFestivals Newsroom | Published:

It seems, from reading some of the reveiws here, that not all of you had a good time. That's a shame. Some of you are complaining about the lack of spirit at Pilton, I didn't experience that. So it would appear the only lack of "festival spirit" is from those who wish to submit miserable reveiws. As for the one who spotted the Cheltenham Ladies college pill peddlar, take it in your stride. Glastonbury RIP?, Glastonbury VIP, morelike.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable time and lookforward to doing it all again next year. I think that the weekend revellers do miss the point somewhat, rushing to Glasto last minute from work, or college, on a Friday night. Not arriving until the small hours of Saturday moring, and then rushing off halfway through Sunday to be back in your respective work places for Monday (probably in no fit state to work anyway). This is indeed a shame.

Top tips (especially for Glastonbury virgins):-

  1. Get there early (Wed/Thurs), so you can avoid the masses and get your bearings in a relaxed atmosphere. Also you're likely to get a good pitch for your tent.
  2. Avoid camping overlooking the Pyramid stage, 'cos that's where the knobheads do all their robbing.
  3. Only take enough stuff to fill a small back pack, this way you'll not have to leave anything in your tent should the aforementioned knobheads turn your tent over.
  4. You don't have to see every act.
  5. You will get dirty and smelly, accept it.
  6. Book Monday, Tuesday (even Wednesday) off work. You will be tired, and why rush away on Sunday/Monday when all you're going to do is sit in traffic (and it's easier to find your car in an emptier car park).
  7. Don't worry about getting lost, we've all been lost at Glastonbury, and survived. Seriously though, I go out of my way to get lost, as it's the best way to see loads of stuff you would never have imagined. And what's the point of being in a bickering, indecisive group. "I'll go here with you at two, if you come here with me at four", you're both obviously doing things you don't want to do. GET LOST.
  8. Ignore the wankers, and have an excellent time. It's NEVER that bad.

I hope this helps some of you to see the light

Carry on revelling
