Firefly Festival has been cancelled.

A statement says:

It's with great regret that we have to announce Firefly won't be going ahead this year.

If you've already bought tickets this year you'll be contacted by us directly in regards to a refund; however any questions in the meantime can be directed towards info@fireflyfestival.co.uk. For more information, visit http://www.fireflyfestival.co.uk.

We've had tremendous support over the past few months, and we thank everybody who's bought tickets and shown their love for our small festival. We know it's been a tough summer for a lot of festivals, and what's important for us is that we take this step in 2011, so we can look at coming back in 2012 even more triumphantly. Thanks to everybody involved with the festival, and we hope to see you all next year.

Firefly Festival expands in it's second year to three days for 1500 people, happening from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th of August 2011 in the surrounding fields of Elton Hall, Elton, Ludlow, in Shropshire.

Line-up

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Morning Parade, Marcus Foster, Kyla la Grange, Scott Matthews, The Neon Lights, Patch William, Flashguns, Will and the People, Picture Book, The Milk, The Anomalies, The Wild Mercury Sound, Goodnight Lenin, Videosprint, Tom Bradley, Talking Picture, Benjixiii and the Brave, Fawkes, and more acts to be announced including DJs. The event offers a main stage in a big top tent and a smaller (mic-ed up) 'acoustic bonfire' area.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at £55 for an adult weekend camping ticket. Due to its uniquely placed countryside setting, children under the age of 14-years-old are unfortunately not permitted to attend. A Friday day ticket is priced at £30, A Friday day ticket for 14 – 17 years is priced at £27.50 . A Saturday day ticket is priced at £30, and a Saturday day ticket for 14 – 17 years is priced at £27.50.

The initial inspiration behind this festival was to provide an opportunity for small, unsigned to be able to play outside of grimy pubs.

Camping

There is a camping field next door for the few hours there are left and then a quiet Sunday until everyone is ready to get going. The festival also offers stalls, and locally sourced food and drinks.
