Set in a beautiful town within stunning Welsh countryside, Brecon Jazz takes place from Thursday 7th until Sunday 10th August 2014, offering a mix of Great Brits and legendary Jazz stars to share the joy of Jazz in 50 concerts over 3 days. This year will be the festival's 30th anniversary.
Thursday: Burt Bacharach.
Friday: Warren Vaché Quintet featuring Alan Barne, Michael Wollny Trio, Loose Tubes, Junior Jazz, Zara McFarlane, JT4.
Saturday: Laura Mvula, Mike Harries Root Doctors, Fapy Lafertin Quartet, The Roger Beaujolais Quartet, Troyka, Burum, A Tribute to Stan Tracey, Penguin Café, The Shape of Jazz to Come, Don Weller & David Newton, Marius Neset Quartet, Do Not Go Gentle: Wales Meets Dylan Thomas, 4Tet, Paula Gardiner, Jean Toussaint, Gabriele Mirabassi, Dennis Rollins' Velocity Trio, Imperial Kikirista, and Beats & Pieces Big Band.
Sunday: Trish Clowes Quintet featuring Gwilym Simcock, Jazz Festival Service at Brecon Cathedral, Christine Tobin 'A Thousand Kisses Deep', Gregory Porter, The Big Chris Barber Band, Organic, Lady Nade & The Silhouettes, The Remi Harris Gypsy Jazz Project, Jim Barber Trio Meets Bluesy Susie, John Taylor Trio, Vinicius Cantuária Quartet, Clark Tracey, Polar Bear, Kit Downes, World Wide Wales: Wales Meets Mirabassi, Chris Batchelor, Ollie Howell Quintet, Rhythms Of The City, Township Comets featuring Pinise Saul, James Clark’s Lonely Hearts Rugby Clwb.
Ticket prices vary depending upon event.
Expect around 25 concerts over the weekend, which will also feature free family events - Fireworks on Friday, a Jazz Carnival parade on Saturday, and the Jazz Service on Sunday.
This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
