This year, the Big Tent Festival (Scotland's Festival of Stewardship), will be held in Falkland, Fife.

The event takes place from Friday 15th to Sunday 17 June 2007. The theme for this year is Minding the Future and the organisers are looking at ways we can make a difference to the world around us.

Acts confirmed for the Saturday include Hazey Janes, Uiscedwr, La Boum! Playing on the Sunday will be Adboujaparov, Moishe's Bagel and Orkestra del Sol. Local acts performing will include Sergeant, Punters and Soul City Shakers.

There will also be theatre performances to amuse the children, the Kåta's: Tent of Connections, five giant Siberian tipi's designed to take you on an 'inspirational' and 'challenging' experience from a birds eye view of the world, to a side-ways take on stone, wood, water.

Debates, discussions and dialogues will offer visitors the chance to ask questions and engage with experts on big issues such as climate change, one world food and the future of wood.

There will also be drop in workshops and exhibitions to help visitors to 'mind the future'. A Stewardship Challenge will be launched for visitors to sign up and support efforts to reduce carbon footprints.

The film and poetry tent will show thought provoking films including Black Gold, newly released to UK.

Other entertainment will involve storytelling, drumming, demonstrations on a range of traditional skills such as dry stone mortaring, stone sculpting, potting and wood carving, poetry, renga workshops, reflective sessions, dance workshops, face painting and a full range of children's activities including a sensory treasure trail developed for the festival.

Tickets are priced at £8.50 per day (adult), or £5.00 (u.16), or £7.00(concession).
