Many more acts have been announced for Liverpool Sound City festival, which takes place in Liverpool across the city's Baltic Triangle and Cains Brewery, with intimate stages, pop up shows, warehouses and more across over 20 locations, and happens on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May 2018, with the conference taking place on Friday 4th May.

The festival is going back to its roots with a vibrant celebration of music and arts from the UK and around the world. Sound City will "embrace the spirit of the underground and seek out the next generation of talent whilst showcasing some of the very best bands and performers of their era, set across the many intimate venues and electric spaces of Liverpool's historic Baltic Triangle".

Confirmed as headliners for the Saturday are DMA's, The Slow Readers Club, Picture This, IDLES, Wye Oak, and Black Honey. Sunday's headliners are Peace, Sunset Sons, Yellow Days, Baxter Dury, Jaws, and Dermot Kennedy.

Other leading acts across the weekend are Jade Bird, The Blinders, Gaffa Tape Sandy, Sorry, Sam Fender, Billie Marten, Matt Maltese, Saint PHNX, and Stereo Honey, and covering a n3ew urban and grime side to the events are ShaoDow, Vital, Beyond Average, and Juke.

Becky Ayres, Sound City's COO, explains: "This is a huge moment for us as we not only reveal our headline day splits but also the venues will be hosting our festival across in May. We really feel the spirit of discovery and exploration returning for our 11th year, with a huge range of artists performing in some brilliant locations. We want to capture the magic of the UK's thriving scene as well as what is happening around the world, and feel this range of 100 artists will really entertain, inspire and thrill everyone in May."
