The family friendly Camp Bestival which offers a wealth of entertainment alongside the music, returns in 2014 from Thursday 31st July to Sunday 3rd August, at the picturesque setting of Lulworth Castle, in Dorset.
The first wave of acts announced also include Johnny Marr, Sinead O' Connor, Laura Mvula, Steve Mason, Skatalites, Peter Hook and the Light, The Cuban Brothers, Chas & Dave, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Wedding Present, Public Service Broadcasting, Charlotte Church, Nick Mulvey, BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Denai Moore, Jaipur Brass Band, The Fabulous Lounge Swingers, Fe, Musafir, Joanne Joanne, and Mdou Moctar, with many more still to be announced.
With the first raft of DJs announced as Boy George & VG Records co-founder Marc Vedo, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (DJ set), David Rodigan, Awesome Tapes From Africa, Rob da Bank, The Shellac Collective, Coley, and Silent Disco DJs.
Camp Bestival Ringmaster Rob da Bank said, “I know the Camp Bestival family have been on tenterhooks about our first announcement, so ladies and gents roll up roll up to the Camp Bestival Circus and come inside…or should that be outside!
"I always pay close attention to the Camp Besti forum and social media to see what people want, so I've followed orders and booked two of your most requested acts, and coincidentally, two of my favourite bands ever, James and Basement Jaxx.
"Two huge internationally renowned acts with huge back catalogues who are going to slay the crowd at Camp Bestival, topping a line-up boasting the best fun for kids, a brand new area for teens and so much more… hope to see you in July... and August!”
As ever, The music line-up is not nearly the half of it, Camp Bestival will also host Horrible Histories performing their new show, 'Barmy Britain: Part II'! Justin Fletcher aka Mr Tumble on the Castle Stage, elf and fairy duo Ben and Holly, hosting the main stage with Preston Nyman and Sian Taylor, a wild and interactive journey of snakes, sharks, elephants and whales with Michaela Strachan's Really Wild Adventures, festival regulars The Insect Circus, and Kawa Circus, and the Royal Albert Hall who are returning with Albert’s Band for a Circus themed orchestral extravaganza.
There will also be a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 50th Birthday Takeover on Saturday, including a pop-up exhibition, a Charlie Craftathon and lively storytelling sessions courtesy of the Roald Dahl Museum, a Bedtime-Story special, with Jo Whiley, Howard Marks, and Rob da Bank reading the entire book over the three evenings of the festival. And Lucy Mangan will be talking about her new book ‘Inside Charlie’s Chocolate Factory’.
Camp Bestival will also be host to a new venue, The Greatest Tent on Earth! full of circus shows, astonishing extravaganzas, tremendous theatre performances and delightful characters galore. Sat at the top of the Kids Garden it will offer a brand new, specially commissioned evening performance; Gandini Juggling Remixed by Rob da Bank; new theatre show Hugless Douglas making its festival debut; plus Marawa the Amazing; Funk da Cirque; BRIT School with a Circus themed performance; West End Kids; Christian Lee’s new miming comedy show POP!; Catherine Bennett; Cowboy Max; Funky Little Choir; and many more.
As well as The Greatest Tent On Earth, Camp Bestival, will offer theThe Feast Collective, Caravanserai, Oberon's Observatory, TeenArena and Travelling Barn - news of which will follow when the Saturday headliner, more acts, and festi-holiday frolics aplenty will be revealed.
An adult weekend ticket (inc. camping from Thursday) is priced at £195, a student weekend ticket (inc. camping from Thursday) is priced at £180, a youth (age 15 to 17) weekend ticket (inc. camping from Thursday) is priced at £113, A teen (age 11 to 14) weekend ticket (inc. camping from Thursday) is priced at £88. A child (Age 5 to 10) weekend ticket (inc. camping) is priced at £20, and a toddler (age 4 and Under) weekend ticket (inc. camping) is FREE (but ticket still required).
A Campervan Ticket is priced at £72 per vehicle and a caravan/trailer tent ticket (includes a car parking space) is priced at £83, and a car parking pass is £11 in advance.

There is also a Payment Plan to purchase tickets, enabling an adult ticket to be bought at a payment of just £9.75 per week over 20 consecutive weekly payments. Once you have signed up to the payment plan, which basically means giving your agreement by ticking the bank mandate form on Ticketline’s website, we will automatically debit your card on a weekly basis.
