Prince announced for Roskilde

Prince has announced he will be making a rare European visit to Denmark's Roskilde this summer.

Prince has announced he is only doing three European concerts this summer. On the 4th of July, he is playing at Roskilde festival, on the 9th in Arras, France. On the 10th of July he is closing off his short stay in Europe with a concert at Werchter's Festival Park (a week after the Werchter Festival).

Roskilde will be the only real festival appearance that Prince makes. The American singer has not played in Denmark since 2002.

"I've had to pinch myself many times since last night when everything fell into place. Getting Prince to Roskilde Festival has been on our wish list for years. He's not a frequent guest at festivals, so it's a great honour for us. It's wonderful finally to be able to tell this great news to our audience." said Roskilde's music director Rikke Øxner.

Roskilde is continental Europe's biggest festival taking place for four days from Thursday 1st until Sunday 4th July 2010. There are also warm up events which run from Saturday 27th June until the start of the festival.
