Upton upon Severn Folk Festival celebrates its 24th Birthday over the May Bank holiday from Friday 3rd until Monday 6th May 2013, and takes place in the town of Upton Upon Severn in Worcestershire.

Line-up

The Young'uns, Bella Hardy, Grace Notes, QuickSilver, Jim Mageean & Graeme Knights, Fake Thackray, Shep Woolley, Ruth Theodore, Winter Wilson, Simon Care Trio, Heretique Trio, Rob Barratt, Steve Turner, Notts Alliance, Night Watch, BarlowCree, Jessica Lamb, Eleanor Dunsdon & Matt Tighe, Greg Russell & Ciaran Algar, Lucy Ward, Vital Spark, Mick Holditch, Issy & David Emeney, Freshly Ground Choir, Eric & Eileen Payne, The Regesters, Brian Bull, Rod Penlington, Norma Mills Ukulele Band, Henry's Orchard, and more to be confirmed.

Other entertainment

The festival will also have over 50 Morris and other dance sides including Bourne Borderers, Carreg Las, England's Glory, Crook Morris, Folk Friendzy!, Full Moon Morris, Inclognito (Stroud), Old Meg, Orange Peel Border Morris, Ragged & Old Silhill Morris, and Thieving Magpie.

Plus ceilidhs, concerts, workshops, craft fair, music and song sessions, street theatre, a grand procession, stalls, juggling and other activities on the river bank.

Tickets

Advance festival tickets are priced at £50 for a full weekend (£45 concessions), junior tickets (14-18) £27, and under 14s are free. To download a ticket booking form, click here.

Folk Clubs

Upton is blessed with ten licensed premises plus a boat with a bar, all of which welcome the folk community for informal and organised sessions. The festival also hosts Folk Clubs in which there are open mic sessions. Just turn up in good time before the start and ask. (Spots will be allocated at the discretion of the MC.)

Fringe events

There will also be free dances under the bridge, plus the popular 'Upton Fringe' events, and spontaneous street acts.

Camping

The camp site, only open to festival ticket holders, is on the edge of the town, about 2 minutes away from the action. It offers showers, "posh" toilets and a club house for late night sessions.Camping is priced at around £10 per person for the weekend, under 14's free.
