Held as an event in its own right before the Summer Sundae Weekender held at De Montfort Hall, Leicester. As well as the usual shows on the Thursday night before the main festival, the Fringe event now in its fifth year is putting together a week long programme of events that will showcase music and arts from Leicester. The Fringe runs from the launch party on Friday 6th until Thursday 12th August 2010.

Donkey: Bobby Sunshine, Cantaloop, Yellowbelly, By The Rivers, Scaley Fuego
Independent Arts Centre: The Gadjos, Mellow Baku, David Wyatt, Roger Wilson, Out Of Karma, Free Control, Ashdowne.
The Shed: The Screening, Little Night Terrors, SuperEvolver, The Boobytraps

Y Theatre: Leicester Comedy Festival presents: Adnan Ahmed, Jim Smallman, Kent Valentine, Ben Hutchinson, Snez Naik, Dave Longley, Ben Ennis, David Morgan, Vikki Stone and The Flashbacks, and Andy Robinson.

Schedule

Fri 6th August - The all day Fringe Festival launch party with Silent Devices, Gallery 47 and By The Rivers. There will also be a DJ set by Maybeshewill throughout the evening. Photography Exhibition curated by David Wilson Clarke & Andy Stafford, BBC Big Screen music exhibition launch curated by David Wilson Clarke & Jennifer Anne Simpson.
Sat 7th August - Stenchival'10

Local promoters and venues organise most of the events for the Fringe. The Fringe includes live events, exhibitions, open studio, and other creative performances that feature musicians and artists from Leicester. The Fringe organisers hold the final night which takes place around various venues in the city on Thursday 12th April, a day before the Summer Sundae Weekender begins.

Charity

Happening across around 9 venues incorporating live music from the region's finest acts, a comedy venue curated by the Leicester Comedy Festival and a poetry and spoken word venue curated by Phrased and Confused. The Fringe Thursday events are run to raise funds annually for LOROS, the Leicestershire Hospice Charity.

Tickets

Ticket prices are not yet confirmed but will include transport between venues on open top buses provided by Reach Marketing. Fringe Thursday offers access to all venues for £5.

Accommodation

There is no camping available for this event, although there are plenty of places to stay in and around Leicester. On the final night of the event, Summer Sundae Weekender festival goers are able to pitch their tents at the festival site, and then catch an open top which travels around the various venues.
