St Albans MusicCity takes place from Saturday 16th until Sunday 24th March at various venues around St Albans, Hertfordshire. St Albans MusicCity celebrates a vibrant live music scene by encompassing a wide variety of music styles, alongside Traditional Music Sessions, music quizzes, and Battle Of The Bands.

Battle Of The Bands

The event is offering an opportunity for all unsigned bands to compete the St Albans Unsigned Bands of the Year 2013! The Top 3 bands or solo acts will go through to play the second band showcase, MCU2, at The Alban Arena on Saturday 16th March 2013 for details go to http://www.lemonrock.com/mcu2.

Most events are free, although there are a few paid for events.

The festival also offers workshops in things like didgeridoo and junk percussion, plus open mic sessions as well as special events around the district. To coincide with MusicCity 2013 The Museum of St Albans are planning an exhibition celebrating 100 years of folk music and dance in the St Albans district and this will also feature special live events and sessions.
