With masses of events over 16 days, the 2008 Salisbury International Arts Festival weaves together performance, visual arts, literature and music and aims to envelop the city of Salisbury in a colourful and vibrant celebration of the arts. This year there is a cultural focus on Africa.

Many events are held at Salisbury Arts Centre, and also right across town, in village halls and schools, and even at StoneHenge. There are likely to be free events nearly every day. Artists on the line-up include Clarissa Dickson Wright, Vikram Seth, Mark Padmore, Laurie Anderson, The King’s Singers, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Tinariwen, Sir Thomas Allen, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Lions of Zululand @ Stonehenge, Shakespeare's Globe, The Brodsky Quartet, General Sir Mike Jackson, Sandi Toksvig, Natacha Atlas, and many, many more.
