Purbeck Valley Folk Festival, brought to you by the musical/entertainment directors and curators of Purbeck Folk Festival, is a family friendly event set in the Purbeck Hills, in Dorset and happening from Thursday 24th until Sunday 27th August 2017. The festival will be held at Purbeck Valley Farm, near Swanage, in Dorset.

Line-up

Announced so far are headliners Turin Brakes (Friday), Molotov Jukebox (Saturday) and Badly Drawn Boy (Sunday), plus Gomez's Ben Ottewell, Kathryn Williams, This is the Kit, Michele Stodart, Lady Maisery, 3 Daft Monkeys, Martha Tilston, John Smith and many more, with more acts will be announced over the coming weeks.

Weekend tickets (Fri-Sun) include free camping and are on sale now priced at £110, a youth (aged 12 to 17 years) ticket is priced at £55, and child over three years of age ticket is priced at £30. A campervan of caravan pass is priced at £30 per vehicle. Day tickets are expected to be on sale at a later date.

Camping

The festival campsite is large with a tents-only field and a campers and caravans field where tents and vehicles can be parked fairly close together. Camping is free with weekend tickets from 10am Friday to Monday afternoon. Overnight camping is available for day ticket-holders at £10 adult (£5 youth and children 3-10 years), payable on arrival at the site.

Campfires are not allowed.

Festival theme

The festival theme this year has not yet been announced.

Child's play

This year the children’s activities include storytelling sessions, singing workshops, balloon modelling, loads of face painting and circus skills have-a-go sessions.There’s also magic shows, jugglers, puppet shows and music workshops where the young guns can make a lot of noise, before a special lullabies singing group calms things down in the evening.
