More info

In the summer of 1888, East End matchwomen downed tools to protest against management bullying and the appalling working conditions they and millions like them faced. Their courage and solidarity changed things for ever for working people, launching the modern union movement. However history had hidden the truth about the importance and influence of their successful strike- until now. Join this celebration of the wild and wonderful matchwomen with a free family festival by day, and party and 'knees up' in the evening.

Make a Matchwomen's Hat, Matchbox Making aganst the Clock, Free Wii play, The Matchwomen's Academy: Tips and discussions on making it as a woman today - campaigning, writing, public speaking. With best-selling authors, and Feminista and Object UK.
