Newbury Fringe Festival is an annual community arts festival aimed at showcasing local artists, craftspeople, bands, musicians and dancers. In 2008 the festival is presented in various venues around Newbury on Saturday 24th May, Sunday 25th May and Monday 26th May. Amongst the line-up are dance, drama and music of all genres, Morris Dancers, representatives of the Guilds and bell ringing taking place at seven venues over the festival weekend.

This community festival usually offers a wide range of music genres with brass, classical, swing, acoustic, rock, indie and world on the bandstand in Victoria Park; plus theatre, in the Central Library; jazz at the Corn Exchange; and arts and crafts, street theatre and workshops as well.

There will be music at the Bandstand, Arts and Crafts workshops in Victoria Park. A full afternoon's dance programme will once again take place in the Kennet Shopping Centre.

Confirmed events so far are as follows:
Saturday - Close and Personal with John Watts, Nina McCann, and Reed Maxfield at the New Greenham Arts
Sunday - Dancing at the Shops, Art in the Library, Jazz at the Corn Exchange, Music Sunday in the Park, Out on Tour around residential homes, Hands-on in the Park, and Art on the Park.
Monday - Music Monday in the Park.

No acts for the music in the Park events are confirmed yet.

Also worth a look are the numerous free music workshops, catering for many styles, in the music tents at Victoria Park.
