The 2nd annual Lyme Folk Weekend, takes place over the weekend of Friday 29th until Sunday 31st August 2014, and brings folk acts to the Marine Theatre, on the sea-front, in Lyme Regis.

Line-up

The first acts confirmed are:

Friday: Martin Simpson, Jim Causley & Lukas Drinkwater.

Saturday: Lisa Knapp, and Ducie.

Sunday: Demon Barbers XL.

An adult ticket for each day of the Marine Theatre shows is priced at £19 for seating, and £15 for standing, or £14 seated and £10 standing for those aged 16 years and under. Tickets for the Pilot Boat, ceilidh, and other smaller events can be purchased on the door .

Festival goers can also expect Morris dancing, music workshops, shanty singing, stone balancing, circus workshops, story-telling and performers in pubs, cafes and on the sea-front.

This year’s event includes three Marine Theatre shows, great live music nightly on the Pilot Boat second stage, Morris parade including Steampunk Morris, street theatre, busking, singarounds, story-telling and countless other activities and attractions.

One special event is the premiere of a new mummers play, the Monmouth Mummers, written by local playwright Harry Ford and telling the story of the Monmouth rebellion. The ‘summer mummer’ will follow the path of the 1685 events, stopping on the very spots where history was made more than 300 years ago.
