Seeking site art commissions
The festival is looking to commission site specific artworks to be installed at the 2014 event. Participating artists are invited to explore the title 'Beyond Infinity', which has been chosen to reflect the Beyond the Stars theme.
Kendal Calling are looking for submissions from established and emerging artists that include high quality, engaging visual art works with emphasis on sculpture, light projections and installations.
The project encourages artists to create pieces that incorporate an element of digital media interaction to engage the audience at the event. One major commission of £5000 is available for a lead piece, along with five commissions of £1000.
The newly introduced arts trail will complement the 2014 theme through showcasing the work of six independent visual artists.. Artists are invited to submit proposals by the end of 26/06/2014. The Beyond Infinity initiative is supported by Arts Council England and is in partnership with Eden Arts and FutureEverything.
