Just So Festival is a small, weekend-long festival of creativity aimed at children, young people and their families returning to Rode Hall Parkland, near Scholar Green (just 10 miles from the old site at Barnswood) in Cheshire, held over the weekend of Friday 15th until Sunday 17th August 2014.

Line-up

Highlights include Long Nose Puppets Arthur's Dream Boat, Gabby Young and Other Animals, Keston Cobblers, Mr Wilson's Second Liners, Shanty Theatre's Story Giant and Cheshire Dance presenting The Dancing Games.

Just So showcases an eclectic mix of the best in outdoor family arts. Taking families out of their day-to-day lives and inviting them to sing, dance, play, explore and discover art together in the festival's landscape. Les Enfants Terrible, will bring their Magical Menagerie, Pif Paf stage their aerial performance 'Something To Hold', and Walk The Plank showcase Shadowplay, an interactive kinetic sculpture with more than a pinch of the zany and vaudevillian.

The performances and activities on offer span a wide range of high quality arts and this year will include premiers of new commissions as well as works reimagined for the outdoors.

Other attractions

Expect also a lantern parade, midnight feast, festival opera, festival choir, kids dressing up, children's authors and illustrators, workshops, pottery, puppets, and more.

Highlights include a life size drift wood shipwreck emerging from the depths of the lake, complete with pirates and a giant kraken at the High Seas. Marvel at the amazing tight rope artists and high wiring elephants up above the big top at the circus themed glade Head over Heels and weave your way through the mirror maze in the Spellbound Forest.

New areas including The Imaginarium a bonkers world designed to transport you to 1920’s Hollywood or the Antarctic through costume. Alongside The New Curosity Shop, a place to learn the art of being Sherlock Holmes, the tricks behind ventriloquism, or butterfly identification.

This will all be accompanied by the usual magical madness of midnight feats, pillow fights, den building and the Wild Rumpus Parade.
